ATypI – Association Typographique Internationale – is a robust community of type designers, professionals, and enthusiasts from around the world. In a different city every year, ATypI gathers its members by hosting a conference to celebrate the culture, tradition and innovations in type, typography and language. In total, 59 conferences have been held since 1957.
Typography is a visual representation of language. Language is made up of words. Words are made up of characters. Characters are made up of strokes. Strokes are both solids and lines. All type can be broken into solids formed by lines. ATypI Conference 2016 in Oslo, Norway takes this as an inspiration and combines it with the repeating O's from "Typo Oslo" to form a contemporary visual identity.
